How can we recuperate what is Catholic?
First, the day of the dead has become not what Catholics taught as a day of remembering the Saints and the Living God, but the celebration of death and those that remain in pagan practices and views. Thus, the day of the dead and even merely preaching that homosexuality is immoral, which is a Sin, is now controversial. On November 1, 2022, Father Seán Sheehy, during his homily he spoke of homosexuality as a sin. He was criticized for telling the truth rather than edifying for the faithful. It goes back to the thoughts of Jews rather than loving the truth the people tried to kill Jesus. How can we accept the truth when we cannot accept when we are wrong that our sins have led us to be enslaved by the enemy, the devil, whose goal is to mislead us from the Truth.
This controversy is an example of us not wanting to accept God’s authority. So, God shows us when we are in control it leads to disorientation and confusion. When we abandon God’s order, He lets us see how confusion comes when man is in charge or when the roles of men and women are reversed leads to confusion. Our Lady is an answer to recuperate against all heresies, she shows us the true submission to the Authority and Order the Lord has revealed. In all aspects of her life, she has shown us the perfect way to live the gospel. Our Lady placed herself as a servant to her Lord, even in the apostles being priest she was the support to them. She kept the orientation of what it is to be human and in her case a woman, thus showing us what is true in the way to live what God has put into place.
There must be Order by God’s Law or else there is only anarchy and chaos. A rebellion against the Law of God or the Natural Law shows a grave dishonor to the Love of the Father who instills the order of making everything in the universe to glorify Him, as a Loving Father who instills order in his house for peace. Order that is conveyed by His Children’s happiness and lives, and can give witness to His Godly Fatherly love and care for them. If there is no natural law that binds us then what is not to say people can choose what they want, thus it would be the Devil’s work in not serving the Truth and choosing Sin.
Oftentimes we may know the answers and the truth, but the battle is allowing grace into our souls to accept what the truth really is. I find this is when we need to accept grace by the prayers from our brothers and sisters in Faith. This thought makes me think when I go to pray outside an abortion mill and I see women walk in, is she battling within herself in knowing what is true? That She is killing a life and the life in her soul as well. I think while praying outside, I hope the women allow the graces to enter into their souls when they enter into the building to see the truth; that by Providence Christ has placed His brothers and sisters in hearing His Word and doing it [Matthew 12:50] in praying outside for the Truth against what she is about to do, so that the hope be she may do God’s will not her own. The prayers are hopefully her confirmation that something is wrong. Yet, evil also tends to get to work to silence the truth with outside noise in yelling or inside with hateful thoughts so that people would merely shut out the graces as something bad without even discerning it, or even by the counsel of wolves or bad “friends” that they themselves are blind.
“[14] Let them alone: they are blind, and leaders of the blind. And if the blind lead the blind, both will fall into the pit.”
[Matthew 15:14]
We can see that the world continues to go against the good counsel of the authority figures of the Church or good friends who live by following the narrow path and their examples are willing testaments to face the Truth and accept it.
Christmas is coming soon, and the laws of the land are showing us the flaws of the democratic system. Those in the majority choosing what is “good” for the rest of us by accepting abortion in the land shows and sends a message to us that we as humans choose pleasure rather than goodness even at the cost of affecting the generations to come. It is this fallen nature that tends to look inward and not see how humility in our humanity can transform us to see who we are by knowing God in true charity, so that by grace we can see who we have been made to serve in God’s design. Many people deny the child in the womb by greed and ignorance in the need of self pleasure and selfishness or fear. As we are about to celebrate the birth of Christ coming into the world on December 25th from His Mother’s womb, we must not forget how Herod ordered the death of Christ. We cannot deny the Incarnation of Christ in Mary’s womb, who was chosen to show us who we are in being Humans and Handmaids to the True God, we are to be an imitation of the truly Beloved Son of God and His mother, and connect our relationship to a Loving God, for this is what the Saints did. To remember that He will be the One to transfer all that He has for us in love and happiness, even through His Cherish Only Begotten Son ( John 3:16) giving His life. Yet, how can the world celebrate Christ- Mass when society allows to persecute the Lord in the womb of mothers and the world cries out to remove Christ as King. Those people are trying to keep Him from reigning by stopping the Innocent ones from being born, to live and be loved, as the Christ child seeks to be consoled and in return consoles our hearts from a world so immersed in selfishness. When we begot our little ones we receive Him, yet do we even see in the littles ones of faith in our families first?
“[48] And said to them: Whosoever shall receive this child in my name, receiveth me; and whosoever shall receive me, receiveth him that sent me. For he that is the lesser among you all, he is the greater.”
[Luke 9:48]
We can see those little ones in the midst of our family life lost from being nursed by the Church. Do we pray for the graces of those we know need Confession and His Precious Blood to bring life back into their souls, or the care of those elders that have given their bodies for us to grow who now ask for a little bit of our time? These are the questions I find myself asking myself when the battle wages against what truly is the Catholic and Apostolic Home: The Church. How do I live it.
I saw a video of a group of young men from Tradition, Family and Property praying the rosary at a college for the end of abortion who were faced with a crowd of college students screaming at them about abortion being their choice, it came to mind, that we can not silence the Truth. The Truth cannot be blotted out. It is interesting to see how powerful the Truth can be merely in the face of what we try to deny. It is then we are faced with accepting the consequences when we deny the Truth which pulls us away from living in a peaceful world. It was a sad reality after watching and reflecting on the video to see such young men and women challenged with the Truth. The Devil was poking at the protesters consciences to shut it out, to create noise. Yet, the irony is that on college campuses they sell you on an idea to go into the world with an open mind, but in these instances we can see that this is not the case when it comes to Faith. They, the devils, are selling the lies that would only bury us further like these young men and women that we are our own possession. It is God that we belong to, to Love is who owns us merely for Love’s sake. When we deny this we can see the darkness we fall into, as we can see humanity, falling away from Charity and merely desiring their own self as God. How can we save our hearts from such deceit but be like the wise virgins.
“[4] But the wise took oil in their vessels with the lamps.”
[Matthew 25:4] )
George Leo Haydock (Commentary on Matthew 25:4)
AD 1849

But the wise took oil. Under this parable, we have the state of all Christians in their mortal pilgrimage justly delineated. The wise took oil in their lamps, the necessary qualifications of grace and charity, joined with divine faith, and an additional supply of oil in their vessels; i.e. they laid up in store for themselves a solid foundation of good works. St. Gregory teaches, that by the lamps, faith is meant; and by the light, good works. Hence he concludes that the bad, although they have lamps, i.e. faith, no less than the good, shall be excluded; because their lamps are out, i.e. their faith is dead, without charity and good works to enlighten them. (hom. xii.)
[10] And in all seduction of iniquity to them that perish; because they receive not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. Therefore God shall send them the operation of error, to believe lying:”
“[11] That all may be judged who have not believed the truth, but have consented to iniquity.”
[2 Thessalonians 2:10 -11]
George Leo Haydock (Commentary on 2 Thessalonians 2:10-11)
AD 1849
God shall send them the operation of error. That is, says St. Chrysostom and St. Cyril, he will permit them to be led away with illusions, by signs, and lying prodigies, which the devil shall work by antichrist (Witham) God shall suffer them to be deceived by lying wonders, and false miracles, in punishment of their not entertaining the love of truth. (Challoner) The end God proposes is the judgment and condemnation of such as reject the proffered light. This is the march of sin, according to St. Thomas Aquinas on this place. In the first place a man, in consequence of his first sin, is deprived of grace, he then falls into further sins, and ends with being eternally punished. Hence it happens that his new sins are a punishment of his former transgressions; because God will permit the devil to do these things. Deus mittet, quia Deus Diabolum facere ista permittet. (St. Augustine, lib. xx. de Civ. Dei. chap. 19.)
We must continue to pour ourselves out like Christ, pouring forth all His love from His Sacred Heart on the Cross, as like His blood flowed from the Cross, seeing a wicked and sinful generation and be united with Him thirsting for their souls. How does unripened fruit have any hope of truly being sweet, but by placing it in the Sun to ripen and hope that there is something that can be transformed. The Lord wastes nothing, for even the fruit that is thrown from the tree becomes the compost for new fruit to grow in later time. The enemy can use yelling or silencing of the Truth to try to prevent souls from hearing it, but let us show them the Face of Christ in our works in Faith. The Love we must have in family life in Charity and in Truth, for we can not rely on merely a political system to solve the issues at hand, but teach the truth in the example of our lives, in our homes, first the Church. For how is it that many of the Catholics in power come from Catholic homes yet promote evils and do not accept the Truth, for it begins in the home and family and education. The relationship in the home builds the consciences to not go against who we love. Many Catholics have lacked to speak the Truth in the desire of human respect or by loving the world more than the gifts given in family life and now we are facing our punishment for the fruits we have set. God loves those whom He corrects, for it is truly the sign of a love for the better of the one corrected to learn and be taught. It is up to us to be willing to be led and taught by the One True Truth: Christ the King.
“[11] My son, reject not the correction of the Lord: and do not faint when thou art chastised by him:[12] For whom the Lord loveth, he chastiseth: and as a father in the son he pleaseth himself.”
[Proverbs 3:12]
I see this as the difficult stage we are now in, for many of the youth and other generations have faced the rebellion to not desire to be taught by God’s Laws and Truth. The education of the world has taught us to be proud in learning what will be only beneficial to one’s sense of truth, their own reality, one’s own Liberty, which is the masonic ideal and the counter Church. It is why I sense true sadness when seeing that the people in charge do not care much for the souls of those struggling with sexual vices, but merely are using these groups of those young lost souls for their own experiment and to gain a way for those who have lost their identity in God so to listen to the world and to become the test subjects for the corrupt men’s benefit in wanting to expand their own agenda and life span on their “earthly paradise” they seek. Oh how sad to see how wolves gain control of the flock, but shows how many of us have left our Mother by the Cross when we do not tend to share our true identity and speak the Truth, especially us men of faith, which is where the Hope we should have in the Lord being in control by the power of Grace and Truth: Supernatural Faith which is a Gift. How often we do not want to be faced with humiliation or feeling alone when our loved ones do not agree with us. How alone it must have felt for our Lady by the Cross when even Christ’s friends left him. Yet, one loyal friend, an apostle and the church in the penitent women stood there in example and silence listening to His last words.
My suggestion for us in our hearts is to truly live to defend the Truth to seek for the Love of seeing others happy with Christ. Also, to have true Charity for souls and hope that the Lord will help them to seek salvation, which will take much prudence, silence, patience, suffering, and truly asking for the love of souls. Hope we can all reflect on these teachings of Haydock and other Church Fathers to seek the solid foundation of what is the true Catholic and Apostolic home and begin there, especially with oneself. Particularly as we approach Christmas, may we make a good dwelling place for Him in our hearts and homes.
