God is in suffering

(Readings Jer. 18,18-23 John 12, 10-36)                                                                         St. John Damascene

Reflection

    For what can we give God that He does not already have?

Nothing but compassion, in that we return to Him what He has given us out of pure love. For as I said, what can we give God in which He has not created or holds together by His essence of being? This is the light of faith that the Lord pours out from His heart expecting nothing more in return, for He knows,  He, already owns. We must console such act of Love in gratitude by accepting His effort to give us life in Truth. Thus, allowing the light of His love to guide us from the darkness of suffering without realizing the pure shared Love He gives in His suffering, for He gives freely and many reject.
