Reflection of the Day: St. John Of Matha, pray for us. Confessor of the Faith.
The word teamwork comes to mind as we know it. That through honesty of our weakness we are to trust in God and not in ourselves. For we know what we would deserve for our sinful pasts and desires, but to Trust in the mercy of God to see ourselves not through our own eyes but that of Our Mother Mary looking at us and our needs.
It is discoverying that in humility we are honest with our frailties and weaknesses, but in the trust we have in our God we allow ourselves to know we can not do it in our own. That in obedience to the Divine inspirations in all that is good and aligned with faith even in our doubts, we would obey his help for our needs that He can see.
It is in pride that we like the fallen angels are given the graces, yet use them for ourselves in continuing to obey and trusting ourselves.
Deliver me Jesus, into your hands as you did let yourself be deliver in the obedience of your Holy Mother and Father. That even when delivered into the hands of your enemies your firmness in the Love of the Father gave witness to the Face of God to others by the obedience and humility you had in trusting in the goodness of the heavenly Father. I place myself in your hands to obey your inspirations of love for I am strong in my weakness, knowing that I need you.
Ben Sira (Ecclus) 31:8-11
[8]Blessed is the rich man that is found without blemish: and that hath not gone after gold, nor put his trust in money nor in treasures.
[9]Who is he, and we will praise him? for he hath done wonderful things in his life.
[10]Who hath been tried thereby, and made perfect, he shall have glory everlasting. He that could have transgressed, and hath not transgressed: and could do evil things, and hath not done them:
[11]Therefore are his goods established in the Lord, and all the church of the saints shall declare his alms.
