Feast of St. Paul of the Cross (1 Cor 1:17-25, Luke 10:1-9)
We may get stuck looking into the past, not seeing what is right in front of us.
We get caught looking too ahead and our view becomes hazy and unsure.
The battle.
The Lord reminds us to see ourselves in the present as He hung on the Cross giving His life for us so we can live for Him.
We must think of those that let themselves been seen in the midst of their weaknesses and battles against the enemies of Christ, which is the world, St. John and St. Mary Magdalene. He gave St. John the best gift, His Mother. He gave St. Mary new life and dignity, through repentance and contrition.
He shows us the true image of ourselves, through the Holy Cross of Our Lord and His passion.
Our need for Him shows us we are children, depending on Him as the Good Father that He is.
Helping us always to see the goodness in His creation and to be present and be united to Him in all things so we can dust off the distorted view that is right in front of us.
“[15] But I most gladly will spend and be spent myself for your souls; although loving you more, I be loved less.”
[2 Corinthians 12:15]
Beautiful!
It is no longer I who lives, but Christ who lives in me.
