THE CROWN OF CHRIST IS THE CROSS
I believe that we are given the choice to serve God just as the angels. We have been revealed everything about God becoming man in the person of Jesus Christ through His Virgin Mother, Mary. We can either choose to believe it by faith or deny it. The world is teaching many that the bible is merely stories that have some material explanation to them and the miracles are not true to what is read. The world’s biggest lie is that we do not need God in our lives. This sounds familiar to me, it reminds of the fruit. Yet, we have everything we need to know about God and His promises in the bible through the prophets and tradition.
Luke 16:29
[29]And Abraham said to him: They have Moses and the prophets. Let them hear them.
If we believe it then we are assured that God’s love for us is infinite and He becomes our strength like St. Gabriel the Archangel. His name means in Hebrew “God is my strength.” All the Archangels end with “El” meaning God. They always reflect God’s grace working in and through them.
I been heavily reflecting on the cross during these times. It has been at the center of my thoughts. I imagined it at the center of a crown as one with the Cross on our forehead as St. John saw the angels reveal to him.
(Revelation 7:3
[3]Saying: Hurt not the earth nor the sea nor the trees, till we sign the servants of our God in their foreheads. )
It’s been the cross that has been giving me the reassurance of the promises of the Lord. It is the cross where I get the strength to remember it is not by my own power but through His that I can reflect the love He gives me. I have needed this sign during times of battling fear or anxiety of the ways of the world’s worries and conformity. It has been my shield as a constant reminder of Love’s promise. One of those promises is the resurrection of the dead as I profess in the creed. Christ defeated death. It was the sting of death that Christ purchased with His blood to be removed. This is what comes to mind when the evil one begins to send arrows of doubts, that it’s by the cross we drink the honey from the rock that gives us life everlasting. I must believe as the scripture says
1 John 4:18
[18]Fear is not in charity: but perfect charity casteth out fear, because fear hath sin. And he that feareth is not perfected in charity.
[18]Fear is not in charity: but perfect charity casteth out fear, because fear hath sin. And he that feareth is not perfected in charity.
Believing in God’s promises is to serve Him by placing my life by Faith in His hands. That in His words I accept what He has revealed to me in my heart what is true: that He is a Good Father.
Joshua 1:9
[9]Behold I command thee, take courage, and be strong. Fear not, and be not dismayed: because the Lord thy God is with thee in all things whatsoever thou shalt go to.
I see this example by on Our Lady’s fiat to serve God with complete trust. In praying the Seven Sorrows of Our Lady and relfecting on the glorious mystery of Our Lady’s crowning I grow closer to this message of the promises of Christ.
May we be sheltered under the Cross near Our Mother the Virgin Mary. Umbra Dei! praise be Jesus and Mary now and forever.
